CHIEF CHAOS COORDINATOR

Driven by a genuine passion for looking after people, Faye has made it her mission to create a practice where patients don’t just have to visit — they actually want to come. Dentistry doesn’t need to feel clinical, intimidating or overly serious, and at Soar Valley we’ve even been known to have a little fun along the way.

Faye began her dental career in 2001, originally qualifying as a Dental Nurse, and over the years has experienced pretty much every side of practice life. She has continued to develop her skills in nursing, care coordination and practice management, gaining her Diploma in Business Management in 2007. That clinical background has never really left her, and it gives her a genuine understanding of what life is like both in the surgery and behind the scenes.

These days, Faye oversees the day-to-day running and development of Soar Valley — which can mean anything from supporting the team and looking after patients to planning what comes next for the practice, solving the occasional crisis with the plumbing and generally keeping a rather large number of plates spinning at once. Hence Chief Chaos Coordinator.

But the part of the job she cares about most is the people. Faye wants patients to feel welcome, comfortable and genuinely cared for, but she is just as passionate about creating a workplace where the team feel supported, valued and able to enjoy coming to work. She firmly believes that if you look after the people who look after your patients, everything else tends to follow.

Never particularly good at leaving things alone when they could be made just a little bit better, Faye is always dreaming up the next idea for Soar Valley — whether that’s improving the patient experience, introducing something new or finding another project for the team to get involved in. There is usually a plan and occasionally a plan for the plan. There may even be a spreadsheet.

Outside the practice, Faye loves spending time with her family and friends and is rarely far from a dance floor when the opportunity arises. And, as the photo might suggest, she has also been known to swap her shoes for a pair of roller skates, spinning and grape-vining all over the place. 🛼
