THE HYGIENE O.G.

Julia joined Soar Valley in 2020, bringing with her a wealth of experience and more than two decades in dental hygiene.

She qualified from Cardiff in 1999 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene, before returning the following year to gain a further Diploma in Dental Therapy. With all those years of experience behind her, there isn't much Julia hasn't seen when it comes to keeping mouths healthy.

Julia helps patients maintain healthy teeth and gums, from routine hygiene care through to supporting those with gum disease. She's a big believer in prevention and in giving patients practical, realistic advice they can actually use at home — without the lecture.

She may only be with us for a few hours each month, but Julia is very much part of the Soar Valley family — and we're rather fond of having all that experience in the building.

Outside dentistry, Julia claims her life is “quite boring”. We disagree.

She's happiest with a good book, pottering in the garden, exploring National Trust properties or catching up with friends dotted around the country. Add in a good country pub and she's even happier.

Julia also loves walking her cocker spaniel and heading off on trips in the campervan with her husband and their four-legged travelling companion — preferably with somewhere lovely to explore at the other end.

And while she may insist there'll be no skydiving or tightrope walking appearing on this page anytime soon, photographic evidence suggests there's still room for the occasional bit of rock 'n' roll...

Take That, anyone?
