THE VOICE OF REASON

Sophie joined Soar Valley in 2010 and has been a huge part of the practice ever since. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2012 before taking on the role of Compliance Manager in 2021 — which means she now has the enviable task of keeping all of us organised, safe and (mostly) behaving ourselves.

Behind the scenes, Soph helps keep the practice running smoothly and makes sure everything from clinical standards to policies, procedures and regulations is exactly where it should be. She also played a huge part in guiding the practice through our most recent CQC inspection, with no areas requiring remedial action — something we're incredibly proud of.

But Soph is much more than our compliance guru. Bubbly, caring and endlessly approachable, she's often the first person the team turns to when they need help, advice or simply someone to sort something out. She's very much the person who keeps the wheels turning — and occasionally keeps everyone away from Faye long enough for her to get some work done.

And then there's the singing.

Soph loves performing and regularly takes part in amateur dramatic productions, although apparently the stage alone isn't enough. There's usually a soundtrack coming from the office, the decon room or wherever Soph happens to be. She is, annoyingly, an extremely good singer — although certain other members of the team remain reluctant to acknowledge this publicly (Faye).

Outside the practice, Soph loves spending time with her young family and, unsurprisingly, performing whenever she gets the opportunity.
